Its presence in that list shows that gossip is not a small matter but a manifestation of the fallen, unregenerate heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jesus taught that the greatest commandments are to love God and love others (Matthew 22:37\u201339). Gossip violates both by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Paul commands in Ephesians 4:29, \u201cLet no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying\u2026\u201d Gossip tears down; the Spirit builds up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Satan is called \u201cthe accuser of our brethren\u201d (Revelation 12:10). It leads to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gossip is rarely alone; it invites companions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Victory is possible through Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Psalm 141:3 \u2014 \u201cSet a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.\u201d Proverbs 10:19 reminds, \u201cIn the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.\u201d Silence can be holy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before speaking, ask:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If there is an issue, Scripture commands direct, loving confrontation\u2014not gossip (Matthew 18:15).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Philippians 4:8 instructs believers to meditate on what is pure, lovely, and of good report. A transformed mind produces a sanctified tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gossip is not a trivial misstep; it is a destructive sin condemned by God and dangerous to the soul. It wounds deeply, divides fiercely, and corrupts spiritually. The Lord calls His people to purity of speech, holiness of heart, and unity of fellowship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In these last days, when deception, discord, and accusation abound, the Church must shine with the purity of Christlike speech.
