The Philistines<\/strong> were an ancient people who lived along the southwestern coast of Canaan<\/strong>, roughly corresponding to the modern Gaza Strip and southern Israel<\/strong>. Origin of the Philistines<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bible first mentions the Philistines early in Genesis (Genesis 10:13\u201314), as descendants of Mizraim (Egypt)<\/strong> through Casluhim<\/strong>, from whom came the Philistim.
