“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.” — Luke 21:25 (KJV)
Everywhere we look today, people are talking about climate change. Politicians campaign on it, corporations advertise their “green” initiatives, and activists march demanding that humanity “save the planet.” But one question few dare to ask is this: Where is God in all of this?
The truth is, man cannot control the weather, the climate, or the wrath of Almighty God. The notion that mankind can somehow “fix” the earth’s temperature through carbon credits or electric cars is not only naïve—it is spiritually blind.
The Hand of God in the Storm
Is the climate warming? Perhaps. But whether it is warming, cooling, or shifting, the question we should be asking is why. The Bible tells us clearly that God uses nature—storms, floods, droughts, earthquakes, and fire—as instruments of His judgment and correction.
“Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.” — Isaiah 28:2 (KJV)
We see it all around us: raging wildfires in the West, devastating hurricanes in the Gulf, floods and tornadoes tearing through the heartland. These are not merely the symptoms of “climate change.” They are warnings. They are the shaking of a nation that has turned its back on God.
America’s Spiritual Decline
For more than two centuries, the United States stood as a beacon of hope—a nation blessed and protected because it honored the Lord. But that protection has been steadily withdrawn as America has plunged into moral darkness. We’ve traded prayer in schools for pride parades, holiness for hedonism, and reverence for rebellion.
Jeremiah warned, “When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.” — Jeremiah 14:12 (KJV)
We are witnessing the same spiritual condition now. God has removed His hedge, and the storms that sweep across our land are not accidents of weather—they are messages from Heaven calling this nation to repentance.
The Illusion of Human Control
While leaders boast of new technologies to “fight climate change,” they ignore the deeper truth: this is not an environmental issue; it is a spiritual one. God does not respond to solar panels or carbon regulations—He responds to repentance. Driving electric cars or banning gas stoves will not turn away His wrath. But humility, prayer, and national repentance might.
The psalmist prayed, “So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.” — Psalm 83:15 (KJV)
The storms are not our enemies—they are God’s wake-up calls.
The Call to the Church
What, then, can we do? We must return to the foundations of faith. We must evangelize. We must pray. We must vote for leaders who will defend truth and stop the growing hostility toward Christianity in this land. The answer is not in Congress or climate accords—it’s in the Church.
After the attacks of September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a brief moment of unity and repentance. Churches were full, hearts were open—but it faded quickly. Now, two decades later, we are further from God than ever. Yet the signs in the heavens and the shaking of the earth are increasing, just as Jesus foretold in Luke 21.
Conclusion: The True Solution
Climate change is real—but not in the way the world imagines. The climate of man’s heart has changed. It has grown cold toward God. And as long as that remains true, the storms will continue.
There is only one solution: a return to the Lord. If this nation will repent and seek His face, He will heal our land. Until then, the earth itself will testify against our rebellion.
“Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.” — Isaiah 29:6 (KJV)
May America awaken before the final storm breaks.
May the grace of God and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
